Taijitu," a sustainable Tai-Chi-Chuan palace in Shenyang, China. Inspired by the Yin & Yang symbol, the design features a spiral, double-shell structure made from eco-friendly timber.
The palace is designed with climate responsiveness in mind. Natural ventilation is achieved through Canadian wells, while solar-controlled glass facades with built-in solar panels generate electricity.
The surrounding Zen garden incorporates sustainable practices. Rainwater harvesting and wastewater treatment systems ensure efficient water use. The garden also features orchards and vegetable gardens, cultivated using permaculture principles.
Taijitu minimizes its impact on the environment while promoting well-being. This eco-friendly design showcases Chinese energetic and martial arts, harmoniously blending architecture and nature.
