Building 405, a modernist icon in Florence, boldly departs from the city's traditional aesthetic with its dynamic, machine-inspired design. Characterized by a vertically oriented structure, the building's abstract composition juxtaposes rectangular and rounded volumes, culminating in a monumental, overhanging concrete vaulted roof. A rich mosaic of balconies and windows, framed by geometric shapes, adds visual interest, while contrasting wooden accents punctuate the smooth grey concrete façade. This masterpiece of Italian Modernism, Building 405, assertively inserts itself into Florence's historic landscape, showcasing a bold, avant-garde approach to high-rise residential design.
